Bacardi 8 rum

Bacardi 8

United States | Aged | 40% ABV

Bacardi 8-Year is a blended rum, filtered using the Bacardi-pioneered charcoal filtering system and aged for eight years.

This rum was not released to the public until 1995, when the first limited edition Bacardi 8 was sold with a sherry oak finish in a Baccarat crystal decanter. Despite a price tag of $400 per bottle, the rum was hugely popular and led to the larger release of the blend without the collectors' features and price.

Nice? yes it is. not great but this is already nice rum which you can also sip. I would give higher rate if price would be lower.

A decent choice when you find yourself in a generic bar that doesn't specialize in rum. I can happily drink this, though I slighty prefer the Havana Club anejo especial. Bacardi 8 is very smooth, with a pleasant amount of oakiness. In fact: it's excells in the oak-department. The taste profile is very coherent, which I always appreciate, there is nothing weird in there (but nothing very interesting either). It feels very solid. But the finish is short and the initial taste slighty too sweet. It seems to get sweeter after every sip - probably sugar added - and at the end your taste buds are quite saturated. It's better with ice to take the edge of the sweetness.

There are better in the price range. I got an unpleasant tar taste.

Much nicer than Bacardi's other runs. Drinkable straight. In fact I bet if this wasn't labelled Bacardi it would get a higher rating. It is good for the price. Nothing very special about it. But a fairly good rum at a low price. I would rather mix it than drink straight.

Some unpleasant flavour and nothing special at all. There are much better competitors even for better price (e.g. Barcelo Imperial)

I was delighted to find that this was a good sipping Rum from Bacardi. The majority of their Rum I find are only good in cocktails but this can easily be enjoyed straight.

A little bit to little sweetness to me, but great subtle smoky, woody, spice notes. With good character and depth. Very enjoyable!

En premier au nez fort caramelisé, par contre au niveaux le caramel n'est pas présent mais fait place à un bon goût boisé et chaud, à conseiller dans le bar

Goes great with ice, Coke, and a lime. Very good for the price.

Good quality for the price. Not as good as others I have tried in higher price range.
