Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

Fantastisk rom
A very smooth, sweet, easy-to-enjoy rum. Maybe a bit too sweet for my preference, but definitively one to always keep in stock. If for no other reason than to have something to offer for those that are skeptical to rum. Everybody I've offered it to absolutely loves it. I have converted many a skeptic with this one.
Very sweet up front with a mellow rum flavor at the end. Delicious
great rum from plantation a little too sweet at my taste
The nose is quite sweet, with dried fruit, and a spark of coconut. The taste is quite sweet, fresh and balanced in the end. The after burn is good, its stays in, but not for long time. Sweet and nice, one of my favorite.
Plantation m'a habitué à de meilleurs assemblages. Celui-ci n'est pas à la hauteur du flacon, mais cela reste un rhum vieux correct.
Finally got a chance to buy a bottle today and tried it this afternoon... It's everything it's cracked up to be. Smooth, complex, smoky... almost bourboney. I'm glad I spent the money for this bottle, you can't go wrong with this one. Leave it to the French and their cognac casks, right? Something special going on here. I'd give it a 10, but I think Jamaica 2000 is still my favorite.
Smooth and great taste.
Very uplevel sipping rum, blended in the Cognac region in France and finished in small oak french barrels, this a smooth and elgant rum.
It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
"An overly sweet saccharin note which make the rum taste artificial. ."
