The Havana Club Selección de Maestros is an honest Cuban rum. Good value.
Unmistakably Havana Club, but with a lot more body. Nice lingering aftertaste and a beautiful nose and colour. I'd have to think twice about the €50 RRP, but on offer for €36 this feels like a bit of a steal. Favourite Cuban rum!
Have to warm up to it still... bit to strong for just sipping and to expensive for mixing.
For the price there is better.
The best of Havana club I have ever tasted - unfortunately it still does not fit my taste. Too agricole.
Smooth and rich one of my favorite sippers. Only have on special occasions.
it is good to drink straight, it is not sweet, it is dry with a good aroma of tobacco and wood
It smells of apricot and peaches.
"Well blended and well-balanced spirit that it’s smoothness shines through. There is very little roughness or aggressive spirit tones when sipped."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is an interesting rum. The nose is strong caramel and oak and a powerful alcohol smell.
Palate is caramel, chocolate and brown sugar, with moderate sweetness along the sides of the tongue.
Finish is decent, medium burn at 46%, but aftertaste is that of burnt honey. Slightly bitter and not very pleasant.
Overall, it’s better than a lot of the bottles I’ve tried, not sickly sweet and quite satisfying. Glad I bought this instead of the 15 year, though.
