Better than V/X but not nearly as refined as Extra. Descent flavor for a blend of 40 rums but not as deep and rich as I'd prefer.
Although I noticed very little difference, I think this is better than Appleton V/X. Be drunk straight, do not ruin him with the mix.
All purpose rum great in mixed drinks and in cola. Can't go wrong.
I had a few of these on the rocks with a lime wedge. I didn't get much in the nose. Got some Carmel flavor but not as smooth as I expected.
I've tried to drink this neat or on the rocks; but I just can't enjoy it that way.
Mixed with a half shot of pepsi though (I hate coke) and I can drink it all day. Along with El Dorado 8 year old; they are two of my favourite mixers.
I have given it a 5 only because I rate on my ability to enjoy it neat or on the rocks.
Appearance: Dark Gold with a reddish tint
Nose: oak with hints of spice and a little sweetness at the tail end that lingers in the nose
Taste: tons of oak and woodiness upfront that is than overtaken by carmel and dark chocolate notes. The tail lingers with some sweetness and the wood comes back and sits on the palate for quite some time.
Mouth Feel: one of the "thicker" rums I've tasted. It definitely let's you know you are drinking it.
this is one of the better mixing rums u can find..
A bit more body and texture than the V/X, so a nicely finished and reasonably good sipper, but still affordable enough to have as a (REALLY TASTY) mixer (for some REALLY NICE friends).
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

People I know either love this or hate it. A little too high on my sweetness scale but it obviously makes a lot of people happy.
