Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.
Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

Not a fan. It’s on a shelf of sprain Morgan to me.
This is a standard, typical aged ron. Not a ton of complexity or deep flavors to it, but very clean and nails the typical flavor profile.
You still can’t get this stuff in the US, so when I saw it on sale in Mexico for 15USD/bottle I stocked up. Lots of spicy notes and a good addition to most tiki drinks.
In Canada (Ontario) it is unfortunate that we are subject to a provincial government liquor monopoly and it decides what is sold. The monopoly (LCBO) does not stock better offerings from Cuba or the Dominican Republic and what LCBO does offer is jacked up price wise beyond what a private enterprise would get away with. Nevertheless, for those that enjoy the "Cuban" style of rum this or the 3 year old is what you can get in Ontario (political rant end).
So, for those of you that enjoy Cuban or Dominican Rum give this to your friends that enjoy staight rum on the rocks. It also makes a good, actually excellent "rum and coke", the only one I will drink.
Great rum with tones of dark chocolate, leather and tobacco
This tastes mainly of molasses, and alcohol. And some sherry possibly - or some wine. C'mon - Cuba deserves better.
preis leistung stimmt überhaupt nicht... pur kann ich ihn nicht geniessen.. er schmeckt mir allerdings gut gemixt.. für das ist er mir aber zu teuer..
Havana Club Añejo 7 Años has a dazzling and clear mahogany colour...

'caramel, cane sugar, and a bit of cinnamon character in the finish'

Their is a creamy/buttery vanilla like smell oak, dry tobacco and smokiness.
"It’s very hot, spicy and very bitter. Luckily the burn isn’t bad and very short. Subsequent sips are much smoother."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
