Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.
Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

After I began to explore rums, I started to sample everything I could. Light, dark, spiced, aged, blends, etc. This was one of those exploration purchases; unplanned and not researched.
"Hey I liked that 3yr old Havana Club, this must be good too." It was good, but not anything special or overly memorable.
Nice aroma without any standouts, flavor was pleasant with no memorable notes or experiences, and a nice finish.
Overall a good drink, you could certainly do worse... or better. If you are looking for an experience, move on past. If you want a solid rum and coke, this will do nicely.
affordable, tasty and pleasant rum. im always happy to have a Havana club 7 year at home
I was expecting something more. Not bad, not great. Very smoky, which I normally like but here not so much. Wont buy it again: will either save pennies and go with the less expensive Havana Club 3 years or save up for a really exceptional rum.
I tried this straight up and it's got a musky taste to it. Can't put my taste bud on it but it doesn't cut it as a sipper. Now as a mixer I think this is the best rum that I know of for a rum and coke. Friends kept bringing it back as a gift for house sitting and I have a lot of it. Well enough to last through the travel embargo to Cuba because of Covid.
Good rum for the price. Nice and rich. Would get it again.
As low budget rums go, this 7 year old Havana is decent enough. Especially when you compare it to all the other rums which cost around the £20 mark, and which are also sold in any supermarket. Having said that though, when I compare this rum with what’s available online (albeit more expensive ones) then to me, it becomes average at best. On the nose it smells really sweet almost like a Port! Neat you get the sweetness in the mouth, followed by an alcohol burn that is smooth and warming, with just enough burn to keep those who like their rums more fierce relatively satisfied. So far so good! But wait, because what I dislike about this rum, is it’s aftertaste. At first I couldn’t quite remember what other rum it reminded me of. Then after a few more sips, I realised that it has the same Whiskey like aftertaste, but not quite as potent, as Diplomático, which I’m not so keen on. So, as a sipping rum, it’s a no from me, but mixed with Coca-Cola it’s ok. And at only £22 for a 700ml bottle, I’m ok with the fact that I find Havana 7 Year Old just ok, all things being relative.
Havana Club Añejo 7 Años has a dazzling and clear mahogany colour...
"Havana Club 7-Year rum view by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
'caramel, cane sugar, and a bit of cinnamon character in the finish'
"Havana Club 7-Year rum review by Drinkhacker"
Their is a creamy/buttery vanilla like smell oak, dry tobacco and smokiness.
"It’s very hot, spicy and very bitter. Luckily the burn isn’t bad and very short. Subsequent sips are much smoother."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Not that great but also not that bad for the price. I ended up using it as a mixer and it was actually quite good.
