Komplex rom med tydliga toner av arrak och torkade frukter. Funkar som mixer eller ren om den får lufta lite.
This is to date the only Overproof I've tried, but it is delightful. I really like this one. It has notes of overripe bananas, demerara sugar, molasses, some spicy notes. Great to mix and works wonders in tiki drinks.
A specialized overproof rum that not many would use as a sipper. This is made for cocktails. But I did initially evaluate it straight up and then with some added water.
The nose is intense and immediately enjoyable: molasses, orange oil, and spice. With water added, some Jamaican funk is discernible. The palate (with added water) is smooth and rich, a touch sweet, with Demerara sugar, pastry, and a strawberry jam note on exit before the medium-length finish.
I’m not much of a cocktail person, but I could see using this flavourful rum in a punch, or as a spike in Christmas eggnog. It’s good!
Den overproof fra plantation egner sig bedst til cocktail. Jeg syntes den mangler en del på finish
Oak,burnt sugar, caramel,a little chocolate. It needs water to cool it down and to show its full potential
I have been messing around with Tiki cocktails for a while (Covid-19 hobby?) and decided to give this one a try when I saw some recipes calling for a dark, overproof rum. This is actually really versatile and fun to use in small doses. The strength and the funk can overpower a lot of things so I have been using it about 1/4 to 3/4 in recipes with a light/dark blend or just modifying drinks that are 100% unaged white with a 3 to 1 ratio with this. It ads a bit of mystery to the drinks and I am now building some of my own new recipes around its unique flavor profile. The impact it has at a very reasonable price makes it something I will always keep in my bar going forward. Unlike the Wray and Nephew Overproof I really enjoy this with neat with some water or on the rocks.
Makes for a great floater on top of a Mai Tai. A bit much on its own for me.
Molasses forward, strong on the nose, almost smokey, hits the noggin like a slice of lemon wrapped around a gold brick. There are definitely Christmasy and tropical fruit notes, the texture is rich thick and dark, the taste is sweet, sweet and sweet. All this before the aforementioned brick to the head.
It’s very intense, almost sickly sweet.
"It’s a sweet yet almost bitter, molasses heavy nose."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I like this as a rum option for my homemade falernum to contribute a little flavor beyond my base recipe.
