Distilled using small-batch copper pot stills uniquely designed for Appleton Estate, this rum is a blend of several rums aged 21 years in American oak barrels. Once blended, the rum is re-casked for two years to marry the flavors.
Appleton Estate 21-year rum is produced in Jamaica on one of the country’s oldest and most renowned sugar estates. Each bottle is individually numbered and comes with a signed aging certificate by master blender Joy Spence.

Got this as a gift from the guys I use to work with. Never heard of this rum, but I have to say, BEST RUM I EVER HAD! Great flavor, love the taste. I am VERY grateful to my crew for this gift.
Much like Bundaberg solera, this exquisite dry sipping rum changed my paradigm of a rum house that I was very comfortable with for many years, to the point of taking for granted. Game changer for me and in my top 3.
Compared to the younger expressions, I taste less funk. There's a silky sherry sweetness that belies the age. A bit of butterscotch and raisins, a hint of clove... Not a long finish. Very pleasant, but I think I prefer the 12 year, or at least find it more interesting. It might be too smooth for me... I doubt most would share that opinion, though.
This is what I take to parties, give to friends, and enjoy both by a fire and on a boat. It has a great spice level that's unmatched in the other Appleton offerings.
I have to say I still prefer sweeter rums but this is another dry beauty. I recommend to leave it in glass for while and then drink it. After first sip you can feel that there is definitely no added sugar. Aroma is very woody with tropical fruit especialy orange. Taste is also very woody with flavours of almonds, coffee, fruit and spice. I prefer Doorlys 14 but this is really great rum.
Thank you, Jamaica! Delicious. What flavor! This was my first rum ever and I was impressed. Appleton Estate 21 Year Rum. Not overly smoked or woody, even for its age...and the fruity notes actually hinted at apple for me instead of orange peel. Must be in my head, or molasses but delicious to say the least. This 21-year champion probably won’t stay on my shelf very long ! Thank you Jamaica and thank you, Joy...you are truly a mix-master.
This rum is just wow! Lovely balanced taste. All the flavours are just right and the wonderful long finish completes the experience!
Quite smooth with subtle hint of caramel coming through on the aftertaste...makes you want to take another sip/6...
I was hooked on Zacapa because of the bite, but this rum blew it out of the water.
Nice brown sugar and toffee notes with a nice creamy nuttiness underneath.
"Tropical notes of sweet fruits a little orange zest and some nice notes of tropical fruit. It burns slightly on the finish which is very long and satisfying. ."

AE 21 is one of my preferred and most liked rums. I appreciate the regulations in Jamaica to bring a pure rum. Dark chocolate, leather and sweet smooth drink. The finish is superb. A little pricey, but very available.
