A good rum that is often hard to find in many liquor stores so often not top of mind for me. It doesn't distinguish itself from other similar rated "6" rum and misses the mark as a decent sipper. Where it shines is as a mixer and then provides a good value.
This rum changed me from being a single malt whiskey drinker to a rum sipper. I got my eyes on it in the local liqueurstore and I thought to myself why not try something new and not spend a fortune on a single malt whiskey bottle.
Not bad but expected more from plantation. The XO is way better!
It's a decent rum for its price, but too sweat (and it's important to know, that's a "sweatened sweat", not a 100% natural one) and the overall taste/scent isn't very exciting.
Still a good one for rum begginers or as a mixer.
Bought at a duty free in Barbados, decent flavor, well priced
Bought one on sale for $25 CAD to try it. Odd, different, funky, couldn’t put my finger on it. Decided it must be the Bourbon barrel aging which I found I quite like.
Bought 4 more bottles as it’s a joy to sip on for me.
a soft tasteful rum. not sharp but a bit flat. I taste caramel, a little cinnamon and lots of tropical fruit.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
