Appleton Estate 12-Year Rum is a blend of several rums aged between 12 and 18 years in American oak barrels after being distilled using small-batch copper pot stills.
The rum is produced on the Appleton Estate, which sits in the Nassau Valley in Jamaica. The estate’s origins date back as far as 1655 when the English overthrew the Spanish to rule the island and Frances Dickinson, grandfather of the distillery’s founders, received the land as a reward for his role in the overthrow.

It's a different style rum from Jamaica and I often enjoy an Appleton with friends. It's not my choice as the flavor isn't my preference but, I'd say quality wise this rum is good. I enjoy the nose and the flavor sometimes but, I must be in the mood. I find it hard to sip and it's overpowering to most mixers... but every once in a whIle - that's what I want.
Un gout de la Jamaïque, de sucre brun et un peu boisée. Un rhum d'une bonne puissance, fort et sec. Pas trop cher en plus. Meilleur que celui VX.
This entry level aged rum is provided in a nice box but it is a shame that the cap is screwed. Anyway it does not affect the taste of this divine liquid.
For sure , it is good value for money. Not too many sugar taste and a little bit too sharp for me , fruit and wood flavor well present. Definitively a good product from Jamaica ...
Redelijke sterke smaak voor een 12 j .maar wel heel lekker om te mix....
good rum but does not stand out among others I have tried.
It is perhaps on the same level as Flor de Cana 12, maybe slightly more complex and sweeter, although i am aware this contains no added sugar.
It is citrusey and oaky on the palate and i have nothing against that. Resembles fine whiskey.

The rum offers a lot of smoky spiced oak flavour.
"A nice note of cocoa and a little hint of vanilla. The rum is smooth yet spicy offering a nice kick. The finish is long and complex leaving a lot of flavour behind to savour."

One of the first "true" rums I tasted. At this very affordable price you have a quite interesting complexity and long finish with some of the typical aromas (mostly esters) of the Jamaican rums. Definitely a great value, perfect for exploring the world of rum. I still enjoy it after tasting other more expensive bottles.
