Appleton Estate 12-Year Rum is a blend of several rums aged between 12 and 18 years in American oak barrels after being distilled using small-batch copper pot stills.
The rum is produced on the Appleton Estate, which sits in the Nassau Valley in Jamaica. The estate’s origins date back as far as 1655 when the English overthrew the Spanish to rule the island and Frances Dickinson, grandfather of the distillery’s founders, received the land as a reward for his role in the overthrow.

A good Jamaican rum: Complex in its taste, many different nuances, relatively dry but only a little bit spicy.
Fine rhum, though lack of strength. Nice on the rocks, but easy-going.
Mit kommt dieser Rum viel zu aggressiv vor. Die gilt für den ersten Geschmack als auch für den Abgang. Ich als Einsteiger kann diesen Rum nicht empfehlen
I tried this rum twice. First time I wasn´t impressed. Second time, I found something good in this rum. It´s not sweet, but it has an interesting character. I am sure, that this is not for everyone, but you should really try it. Maybe, it will stick to you , as your favorite. But not for me. :-)
I exclusively sip rum, don't much like it mixed at all so my ratings are based on drinking it straight up. This rum is good, but I prefer it on the rocks, which isn't how I tend to drink. Good price, but not likely I'll seek it out again.
Not for straight up drinking for me but good enough to blend with coke
Now this is a good rum! You could sip this one easily enough if that's how you like it. This one is up in my favs. A little over priced, but better to spend money on something I can enjoy too, instead of something I just end up giving away.

I would drink this rum with a mixer. Usually with Cola as I like more of a sweet rum.
This is just my opinion, you should try the rums you are curious about as we all have different taste buds :)
Hope this helps rum enthusiast.
Deep copper colour; vanilla bean, caramel/molasses, buckwheat honey and spicy cinnamon/nutmeg aromas; quite elegant on palate with warm, mildly spicy, brown sugar flavours and a smooth, lingering oaky finish.

The rum offers a lot of smoky spiced oak flavour.
"A nice note of cocoa and a little hint of vanilla. The rum is smooth yet spicy offering a nice kick. The finish is long and complex leaving a lot of flavour behind to savour."
