Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still
El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.
Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

Super beau produit
Les saveurs explose de partout
De prime abord on goûte les fruits rouges confis et des note de mélasse par la suite votre bouche est enrobé par une belle chaleur et vien une saveur de noix grillé avec une final boisé bien équilibré
For the price it's a good affordable sweet rum. Better options out there though
Rich and wonderful sipper, hard down as one of my favorite rums.
Not as sweet as I thought, but it surprised me a lot. It’s fruity with a good vanilla touch! Nice bottle too...
In my opinion this rum is not too sweet, has a nice smell, taste some vanilla and oak.
Well balanced, just a bit more bourbon flavor than I like. Smooth taste and smooth finish maintaining the same flavor.
As many other reviewers have pointed out this is a smooth, sweet and sour rum made for everyday drinking — and priced for it too.
It's so good that I can't give it less than 9, it's different than 15 and 21, a bit smoother, less dark chocolate notes, molasses bit more vanilla, cinnamon, oak taste kinda feel different in every other El Dorado... it's not sweet rum, as someone says, the amount of sugar is kinda optimal in my opinion, it's well-balanced. Well, El Dorado 8 is absolutely less sweet but I conclude that 12 is more "polished", better balanced and more suitable for most people. I still prefer El Dorado15 the most but it's such an enjoyble moment with every El Dorado.
Lush tropical fruit and spice nose with hints of honey and dark sugar...
"El Dorado 12-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
It’s sweeter with more delicate fruit flavours coming to the fore.
"It’s very sweet and quite light. It’s very easy drinking. As a sipping rum it as easy to drink."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Really liked this rum better than the 15 year old and cheaper notes of banana and brown sugar
