Like the aroma, nice finish but the aftertaste is covered first by the alcohol taste

I had multiple people tell me this was lovely and describe it to me. From the discription it sounded similar to don papa rum which I quite enjoy. I tried it neat and I have to say I wasn't overly impressed. Very very sweet and the vanilla is very over powering donits not a very complex taste. Also not particularly smooth, gave it a 5 as I don't hate the flavours I just didn't find them well executed. Use with a mixer only

The liquor store rep said this was his favorite rum and a went with his recommendation. I should have read the label. So many flavors are added to this so that it no longer tastes like rum. I'll use it in trashy tiki party drinks while I save the good stuff for myself.

If you want to want to find something special or surprise your friends, Bumbu Original is something you're looking for!!! Of course some followers of traditional rum couldn't adopt this one, but for everyone, who's ready to open his heart for something new, this rum will be great choice. Tasty, sweet and oily rum with strong flavour of banana!!!

The smell kind of reminded me of pear notes like when they would have in Glen Leavitt scotch however, much more sweeter does have 35% rum. So it tastes of pear notes or apple notes Also vanilla. It is a sipping rum, but it is sweet. Not like Malibu. But it is a sipping rum to put over ice.

There seems to be some fuss about Bumbu so I gave it a try. I'm more than disappointed--despite what's on the label this is NOT rum, it's a low-proof ghastly-sweet banana/vanilla liqueur. One drink over crushed ice was slightly interesting as a change at first, but it didn't improve when I tried it with citrus mixers and I wouldn't risk offending even rum-dumb guests so I poured it down the drain. Don't buy this believing it's rum, I learned the hard way after coughing up $50. The artificial banana flavor is overwhelming and I LIKE other banana concoctions...I don't have sophisticated tastes. Half an hour after drinking the Bumbu I had to gargle with beer to get the lingering fake banana taste off my palate. If you want a tasty banana drink, just combine some decent aged rum like Doorly's with Giffard Banane Du Bresil or Tempus Fugit Banana lieueur and splash in some fresh lime juice, shake with ice, and you have a tasty banana daiquiri. Boycott Bumbu, it's stunningly horrible.
