Interesting to taste, once or twice. OK taste and nose. Not my favourite, but worth of testing
good taste of pineapple, soft with nice aftertaste
I was happily surprised when I drank this one. I drank it on the rocks, and the mixture of the smoothness and the tang from the pineapple was quite nice. Don't drink too much at once because my tongue began to get a tartness burn haha. But a great rum to enjoy!
Smells and taste like "natural" pineapple, thus, not very artificial as it could be expected. Fits in very well. Good stuff.
I think this was one of the first rum I bought. Wasn’t wild about it neat. Since then I’ve tasted other aged rum and now I think I get it. I admire the effort. It manages to hot, bitter, fruity and sweet all pretty much at once. A musty pineapple short finish. As a mixer I think it has potential. Tried it with a dight of ginger beer and didn’t think it helped. I know there’s a cocktail in there somewhere. I’ll keep trying.
Beautiful rum, sad that the bottle is almost gone. Not too sweet, still has a solid rum body, gorgeous pineapple flavour. Have made a few daiquiris with it (use about half the simple syrup you normally would) but mostly this is for sipping. A great bottle to have on the shelf to introduce someone to rum or sipping spirits in general. Tough to find where I'm at but one of the very few that I will buy the moment I see it.
Plantation pineapple rum is pretty good. I like the plantation xo better.
I'm relatively new to the rum scene having started at the sweet, inexpensive Bumbu rum and the sweet, too expensive Diplomatico Exclusiva Reserva.
As I mentioned in my Bumbu review, I'm something of a rebel at heart and I'm always looking for something that little bit different and unique. It comes as no surprise then that my sweetened taste buds and attraction to history led me to try Plantation's Pineapple Rum "Stiggin's Fancy."
And I'm glad to say it did.
I thoroughly enjoyed this bottle (it didn't last long). I now look upon it as a "rum rung" in a ladder of my experiences with the spirit. I see it as an evolution of my taste moving upwards away from the overly sweet (but flavoursome) Bumbu, to that fertile middle ground that most rums seen to inhabit, where sweetness gives way to the more subtle mix of flavours beneath.
I won't rise above my station just yet by trying to describe the nuances of this rum, but rest assured it occupies a place in my mind that is a progression from the delicious mild Bumbu and the boldly flavoured Rumbullion, in that it is less sweet and more subtly flavoured.
Recommended for the experience!
The nose is sweet but not overly so.
"Smells very much of fresh pineapple as opposed to sweetened tinned pineapple."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Plantation quality with a hint of pineapple. Nice aroma, not very sweet taste, long fruity aftertaste.
