Brugal has some good expressions, but this is not their best. Vanilla, wood, probably meant as a crossover / introduction to rum for bourbon drinkers. I wouldn't dump it out but I would not buy it again.

This drinks more like a bourbon or whisky - oak, vanilla, and a hint of smoke. The nose is flat, mostly vanilla. The palate is also flat, mostly vanilla, some oak, with a sharp bite at the end. I love my bourbons, but I don't want my rums to taste like them. Time to find some Coke.

Called dry, but still a bit sweet. I prefer this one over all Aรฑejos. Viva Republica Dominicana!

Got this as a gift. It tasted pretty smooth and mild. Not too sweet or too much bite.

Bom Rum, encorpado, escuro, notas doces e interessantes.

This is great in cocktails, not much more to say about it. I have a soft spot for Dominican rums it seems. For the price point, you can't find much better, unless you're in the Dominican Republic, in which case skip this entirely and go straight to the Leyenda.

This is my go to when I want to mix. Great rum although is nothing crazy. Would recommend sprite or Mottโ€™s apple juice & ice as a mix. If you want to use it as a shipping rum, would suggest you to put it in the freezer as ice wonโ€™t have the same effect.

At the first taste this rum seemed harsh and a little primitive. But during half a year this rum showed great evolution from harsh and simple rum to very tasty and maybe a little refreshing.

Don't know how to put this better but this does taste like the kind of rum you would have expected the colonial Spanish and Portuguese to drink in the Caribbean in the olden days. Very nice but not too special!

it's not that bad, but I definitely wouldn't put it in the category of aged rums. The taste is good vanilla and oak, but quite a flat rum. I recommend for mixing.
