WOW! For the price, the rum is worth every penny! The gift box is a plus but the juice is undeniably one of the best aged rums in the market. Comparable to Don Ponchos 30 yr. My fav from SelvaRey, although I love all of them.

I’ve enjoyed this rum so far, but not enough to justify the cost for another bottle. There are other rums I would rather spend my time hunting and paying for. That being said, this is a very pleasant sipper. Very smooth and mild. I found the nose to be slightly sweet with banana, toffee, vanilla, and creme brûlée (I had my wife verify in case I was losing my mind on that last one). The initial taste is very mild with chocolate, maybe a hint of nutmeg, and bread. The finish was oak, tobacco, dark chocolate and coffee.

At the price point I was apprehensive but that first sip that all went away, sugary on the nose, this rum offers aromas of maple syrup, cinnamon-laced apple cider, ample vanilla, almost a sherry like character. Outstanding sipper!

Tasted at Miss B’s Coconut Club on 5-22-24. Dark golden with garnet notes. Strong aroma of milk chocolate. Rich treacle flavor. Thick syrupy palate. Lots more to this than the 40% abv should bear. Honey and strawberries. Finishing mocha flavor emerges. Very nice rum, but not justified in price.

Bought this as I was leaving Memphis as a vacation drink for a cabin I rented in the appalachian mountains. It was definitely one of the better rums I've had in my time. I drank it neat and with ice. Finished the bottle within the week, as it's an easy sipper. You won't be disappointed.

This is such a delicious rum and I can’t get enough of it. If I could afford it this is one I would drink all day, I mean everyday. 😬. I know it is a more expensive rum but this one is worth it. Do yourself a favor, spend the money and enjoy this rum.

This is the first of the Selvarey lineup that I have tried and I regret not trying it sooner! It’s absolutely delicious, and the balance of sweet/dry is perfectly on point.

Finally, a special bottle worthy of the slick marketing, price and hype.

It is smooth without the sugar of other premium rum. Bourbon guys would like this, but I would not call it a bourbon drinkers rum. It is one of the finest expressions of what rum should be. It is not demerara style, which I consider intensely sweet, cloying and so rich that it can hurt your stomach. I love those too, but this is not that. This is it's own thing.

I don't plan on mixing this, but if I did mix, it would be with a light juice flavor or mix that will not cover the delicate and smooth flavors.
