El Dorado 1992 25-Year

This El Dorado is absolutely amazing. Likely the smoothest rum Ive ever had the pleasure of tasting. When a rum is this smooth it lacks any discernible qualities in that it almost has no strong flavours, just a smooth lingering happiness. Would have been a 10 but the price is $400.

didn't doubt that this would be a highlight as the 21 year is already at the top of my rankings. 93 rums ranked and this is my first "10" . absolutely nothing negative to say - just amazing from first nose to last finish with the swallow. I hope everyone can enjoy any of the 25 year product. Cheers.

Everything seems so perfect about this drink, and it is made just so grand, that it is not the exciting “WOW” I was expecting. Nothing to leave you breathless, for the price. No complaints of course, but nothing to die for. An overwhelming refreshing taste of apples and green apples. Take it out to impress dear friends, that’s all.

Smooth as smooth can be. Great from start to finish. Not quite as tasty as Four Square.

This one is very, very good, but the 1986 (or even possibly the 1980) that I bought before I thought was "better" (it was to die for! a 10!). It is an 8 because of the crazy price ($500 USA), so not a value, but I do like it better than the El Dorado 21 side by side. The El Dorado 21 price makes that one a better value...

I guess the question to ask is if it's really better than the already excellent products from El Dorado? The answer is absolutely! It really is a pleasure to drink straight, incredibly smooth and pleasant, with no downsides whatsoever. A properly warm sip with a lingering taste that continues to please for quite some time. I'm enjoying it immensely, and I'm not at all sure I want to share any of it!
