This rum is just an standard in the rum world. You can't make a Painkiller without it. Currently enjoying just sipping on this for Black Tot Day.
Big aromas of molasses and vanilla which lead to a rich palate with pepper notes. Great as a sipper or in cocktails.
W aromacie słodki: krówka, toffi, karmel. W smaku trzcina cukrowa, słodycz, karmel. Finisz również słodki. Intensywny, aromatyczny, bardzo przyjemny, słodki rum.
Oddly, there are multiple Blue Label listings for Pusser's. The one I purchased is 42%ABV, I don't know how many people rated it as the 40% without checking the ABV or if I got an odd version.
Anyway, smells like a mix of antiseptic and molasses and tastes pretty similar. The trademarked rum for a Painkiller and it really killed the balance of the juices in it. I guess I'll stick to Monorail Yellow or Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum drinks.
I don't know if I have an odd version of Pusser's or not and how much this is like other Demerara rums (yeah, I like Pyrat on some occasions, which is mostly Demerara as well, but completely different).
Until I try something like El Dorado for comparison, I don't know how this is for sure. I just know how often I'd drink it... which isn't likely to be often for now.
I'm often puzzled by complex descriptions of nose and initial palate. It's the finish that dominates. All I get with this one is molasses. Even with, coke, it's still the same. Over rated/ not too my taste. Would not buy again.
Just a very mild aroma, and then the flavor is very deep and complex. Fairly strong whisky like flavors. Some burnt sugar, honey, vanilla
Pusser blue label navy rum 42% abv
A nice drop with burnt sugar prominent flavour, not terribly complex but reminds me a little of Mt Gay XO reserve blend (nothing like the triple blend), but not so delicious..
I tend to like the higher abv rums. Some further aging would make this a really good contender for a staple in my cabinet. Would recommend and I will buy again but price point in Australia makes it difficult put up against other seriously good rums at similar price. No ageing listed on the bottle. Edit; makes an OUSTANDING Cuba Libre
6.5 for me
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Good rum for anything really, but doesn't excel in anything to get a better rating in any category.
