I'm not gonna lie, I was starting to get a little underwhelmed with El Dorado. I've tried the 5 year, 12 year, 15 year, and Versaille and while they're all good, none of them really blew me away. Hamilton and Lemon Hart both seemed to do what El Dorado did but better in the same categories. So I was a bit hesitant to buy this, despite all the great things I've heard, but last bottle fomo and a long week convinced me to go for it. Oh my god, this rum is incredible. It has the classic burnt sugar notes of a great demerara rum, but it's so much more complex. The flavors really punch through. It also has a sort of light funkiness on the finish that I don't expect off of a demarara rum that's amazing, and the perfect level of flavor and heat for me. My wife actually rated this a 10, while we did a side by side with the ED 12 and LH 151. Amazing sipping rum. Near perfect.
Great rum. I am not a good enough poet to describe adequately. Take neat in brandy snifter, swirl, smell, and sip. Bouquet and taste keep evolving more than an hour. So subtle and interesting it took me hours to go through two ounces in the brandy snifter. An after dinner drink for when you have hours to relax and enjoy.
Extremely good demerara rum here. The port mourant gives it an added depth and complexity, a bit of grassiness, that accentuates the molasses, dark fruit, etc flavors. Very well balanced.
I wish to have every rum 50+°. 40°? - the rubbish. So welcome El Dorado cask strength, single cask, still pot, almost 57°.
Absolutely seductive on the nose, just a bit of spirit, then fruity, licorice aroma.
Silky smooth, oily, tart, rich, funky, expressive. Detected: dark chocolate, prunes, dates, wood, touch of tobacco. I guess everything you would wish to get is in place in there.
Little burn straight at 57°, but there is close to nothing in 10min of breathing.
Virtually infinit aftertaste.
Definitely, one of the best from 180+ sorts I've tried.
Thanks Eldo Радость!
Edit: according to Canadian "scientists" it's 55.6°
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

It’s very nice to sip, just a little sharp
Maybe fresh oak , I’m unaware if so
